The amazing thing about these centurions and super centurions is their lifestyle anddiet. They eat a vegetarian type diet of unprocessed whole foods like whole grains, fruits & vegetables that are typically locally grown. They get their proteins most from plants – seeds, nuts and sometimes fish. They eat lots of sea vegetables
They maintain a sense of purpose to their lives. They are mentally and physically active and contribute to the community they live in. The social interaction they have with young as well as old is a key to their longevity.
They exercise and are active & independent in their action and attitude. They have a simple and peaceful existence both internal and external.
The live in a place called Okinawa.
Another amazing source of Living a vibrant and healthy life comes from Dr. Hiromi Shinya’s book. “The Enzyme Factor”. Here are his 7 Golden Keys For Good Health Summarized
- Good diet of 85%-90% plant-based foods and 10%-15% animal-based proteints (no more than 3-4 oz per day). Foods to avoid include : Dairy products, Sweets & sugar, coffee, teas should be limited to 1-2 cups per day, nicotine, alcohol, chocolates, fats & oils and regular table salt. Chew your food well and be disciplined with the food you eat. You are what you eat.
- Drink Good Water, 6-10 cups per day. Drink 1-3 cups upon waking up and 2-3 cups about 1 hour before each meal. Sip don’t gulp your water.
- Regular elimination at least once a day. Do not take laxatives, use foods instead. If your bowels are sluggish use a coffee enema.
- Moderate exercise daily appropriate for your age and physical condition. Excessive exercise can harm you. Some examples of exercises are walking about 3 miles per day, swimming, tennis, bicycling, golf, yoga, martial arts and aerobic.
- Get adequate rest about 6 to 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Go to bed at the same time each night. Do not eat 4 to 5 hours before bedtime. Take short naps
- Breathing and meditation: deep abdominal breathing 4 or 5 times per hour, positive thinking, listen to your body & be good to yourself.
- Love and joy will boost your body’s enzyme factor sometimes in miraculous ways. Take time to have an attitude of appreciation. Love, laugh, sing, dance. Live passionately and engage your life, work, and the ones you love with your full heart.
There is great similarities to the life style of the centurions and Dr. Shinya’s Golden Keys.

6 Comments and Pings on Where Do The Most Centurions Live?
Excellent advice for eating here Arlan, thanks for sharing. I love chocolate, so rather than eliminate from my diet, I eat “healthy chocolate” which has antioxidants that are beneficial to your health. I love the p.s. of having a belly laugh. It is so important to live with laughter and joy. Stress is such a contributing factor to ill health.

Hey Val: Glad to share and wish you good health. Wellness is your choice. Wellness is simple don’t fee your body more toxins that we are surrounded with in the air, our environment, the carpet, the furniture, the cleaning solutions and even the antiperspirants that ladies use. Do you realize that all the waters you consume- bottle waters, sodas, mineral waters, etc are acidic and have high oxidation potentials? Even tap water, although is alkaline it has fluoride and lye so that the water does not corrode the city pipes. I can go on and on. Dr Otto Walberg, Nobel Prize Winner, wrote that cancer is caused by acidity in our bodies. Take care and be well.
