Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is based upon the classic, “Yellow Emperor’s Classics of Internal Medicine” and over 3,000 years of experience. Medicine as is science is based upon trial and error. TCM practice has over 3,000 years of this practice with amazing results that baffle scientist today. My TCM Doctor took on a case of a person in a coma that the Western Doctors had said would not come out of the coma and that the family should move her into a care facility. Using herbs and acupuncture, Dr. Shao-Bin Zhang woke her upon in 45 days and she was able to walk and talk after 90 days. Proof is in the results as this is not an isolated patient case treated by Dr Zhang.
TCM uses four distinct treatment methods: herbology, acupuncture, manipulative therapy and food cures. Also, it encompasses remedial exercises of Qi-Gong and Tai-Chi. These exercises are much more than exercises then I can explain. Most of the best practitioners are skilled in and use all methods including the remedial exercises.
The Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor examines you every time you see him by observation of your complexion, tongue, hearing and smell, takes your pulses and asks you many questions about your appetite, sleep and symptoms. Based upon this and his records of your case, he makes a diagnosis tells you what you need to do and the treatment he prescribes for you – herbs, acupuncture, manipulation and the foods that are best for you to eat.
Chinese Medicine focuses on the causes and the treatment is based upon years of experiences on the human body. You are treated with herbs, acupuncture and food cures are less drastic than Western Medicine. The treatments are longer lasting because the patients are given the knowledge of what is best for them to do – foods to eat, exercise, sleep and treatment.

Writings about Traditional Chinese Medicine may be different and how hard to understand. I can only tell you what I read, experienced and learn about. I will attempt to pass on the knowledge in a series of posts or a newsletter.
Another series I will write about is food cures of Asian Traditions and Current Nutrition. As I decide how best to pass on this knowledge, I will put newsletter subscription boxes for you.
